Every time I feel like getting a cold I start craving for savory fermented drinks of foods. Kefir made with coconut milk is actually a bit sweet but has quite similar properties as milk kefir. I like using that drink making varous savory and sweet dishes as it´s always good to get some more good bacteria growing in the gut.
1 tbsp coconut jogurt with microorganisms
400 ml vegan milk
How to make?
- Place a tbsp of yogurt into a large bottle or jar. Close the lid and shake well.
Undo the lid a bit so the gases produced by fermenting can get out.
Let the drink ferment for 3 days at about 20-25 °C (68-77 °F).
Shake the bottle every day and make sure there is no mould growing anywhere.
When the drink is ready it should have a pleasant sweet sauer odour to it.
Use it immediately or keep in the fridge for 5-7 days.
